  6. Bands could send signals and messages with different songs or drumbeats without the enemy understanding. Also, musicians would play their instruments while bullets flew past them, a very brave thing. The way northern and southern bands were different was the quality of their instruments. While the South had low-quality instruments and less expirienced musicians, the Noth had many great instrument-makers and musicicans, along with many more fancy instruments.

  22. Bands were important in the Civil War because they kept the soldiers spirits alive and hep them feel confident about the war. Some music is titled like "Were Going to Win"." It help the soldiers belive in the war. Music also played a very important role in the Civil War. The drums sometimes sent out codes to soldiers to tell them something. They could have used morse code as well. Other instruments sent out codes and messages, too. The bands also told the soldiers when to get up, when to eat, when to go to bed, and other things like that.

Southern bands and Northern band were different in many ways. First, Northern bands were much bigger than the Southern bands. Union troops had a 24 band, and Confederats had only a 16 group band. Another differance was the instruments were of much better quality in the North. Brass and metal was limited in the South. There are many other ways the North and South bands are different, but thats just a few.
